With Odoo 20 out, Odoo 17.0 has left standard support. Odoo’s support table lists it as released in November 2023, with standard support ending in September 2026.
What changes for 17.0 databases
Odoo supports each major version in two phases:
- Standard support covers the first three years and includes security updates, bug fixes and helpdesk support.
- Extended support starts afterwards, costs an additional fee and does not include security updates. Bug fixes are provided only where technically feasible.
For 17.0 that means:
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| Odoo Online | Not supported |
| Odoo.sh | Extended support (paid) |
| On-premise | Extended support (paid) |
Upgrade deadline
Odoo allows upgrades from any version still under standard support, or one that left standard support less than six months ago. For 17.0, that window runs until about March 2027. After that, upgrading becomes harder.
The upgrade targets are the versions still under standard support:
- 18.0 — standard support until September 2027 (planned)
- 19.0 — until September 2028 (planned)
- 20.0 — until September 2029 (planned)
Odoo Digest covers 18.0, 19.0 and 20.0 every week. For what changed in the latest version, start with Odoo 20 is released.
